If you are a school leaver falling in the age bracket of 16-24, you can become an electrician by taking a college course. If you are aged more than 24, a private course will be more suited for you. The electrician training courses involve some hands on training while the theoretical side of training can be carried out from home. This will give you the option of fitting your training with other commitments.
In order to become an electrician if you take a college course you must have at least a grade A-C in English, Math and Science GCSE. There are no such stipulations for private courses.
