A stockbroker buys and sells stocks, shares and any other financial instruments for a profit on behalf of the investor who is his client. You can take up stockbroker jobs once you have completed one of the FSA or Financial Services Association qualifications and examinations and thereafter achieved FSA Approved Person Status.
To be a London stockbroker your entry level qualification for FSA should be a minimum B in GCSE level Math, high A level grades and a good undergraduate degree in economics, finance or investment management.
You can take up stockbroker jobs once your FSA status has been approved after the examinations and a period when your employment is supervised.
As a London stockbroker you will be required for all transactions on the London Stock Exchange on behalf of your clients. Your services may be of any one among three key types that are execution only, advisory dealing and discretionary dealing.
In the execution only you will act to buy or sell based on your client’s instructions.
Advisory dealing refers to your services on an advisory basis. In discretionary dealings you will retain control of both buying and selling stocks and shares and will be referred to as a trader.
