Driving instructor for a proud and rewarding career

The driving instructor’s career is one of pride, as you will see many of your students obtain their driver’s licences. However, you must have a passion for teaching and a good deal of patience. For training to be a driving instructor, you must be more than 21 and should have held a full UK or EU driving license for four of the last six years without any disqualification. For the driving instructor’s career to take off, you have to be an Approved Driving Instructor (ADI).

The training for ADI comprises of three sections that include theory, driving ability and driving technique. There is also an eyesight test and a test of your instructional ability. The different options in driving instructor jobs include work in a driving school or as a self-employed instructor in your own school. Of these, different driving instructor jobs, while you will enjoy career freedom in your own school, you will have the backup of a large driving school and the associated safety.
