How to become an expert stockbroker in the UK

There is something about a stockbroker that makes his career appear very glamorous and luxurious. In reality as well, despite the highly stressful life and long hours, a stockbroker’s schedule is very exciting and his remunerations are good provided he makes the right moves! Stockbroker training has to be preceded by at least a B in GCSE level with Maths and high A level grades and good undergraduate degree with preferably economics, finance or investment management.

If you wish to be a London stockbroker, you must complete one of the Financial Services Association qualification and examinations. You must go on thereafter to achieve FSA Approved Person Status. Your stockbroker training is not complete till you work for a firm where the firm confirms that you are capable of working at a high level unsupervised and nominate you for that status so that you can become a London stockbroker. You must undergo further training however, in keeping with the area in which you wish to specialise. Some larger firms may insist on SII and CFA qualifications.
